Can I connect case fans to a power cord?

I have 2 12V case fans from an old desktop that I wanted to use to make a laptop cooling stand. I’ve seen and read about how to cut the wires to connect to a usb cord, but I don’t want to have the fan powered by the usb ports on my laptop (I only have 2). Is it possible to cut a power cord and attach it to my case fan wiring?
I have a 30V AC Adapter from an old device, will that work?

You’ll have to make sure you have DC power for those fans … use a converter.

Or you can make a small rechargeable battery pack to power your stand, then recharge once in a while. Or buy 120V fans.
